Row, Row, Row Your Boat...

The crew of six fire-fighters: Simon 'sico' Connor, Johnny 'the fish' Offin, Nick ' the mighty eye' Drewett, Heather ' H ' Scurrell, Lee ' Bobby' Bouchez and Rod ' Buddy' Gorman used stamina & sheer brute force to negotiate their way along the gruelling 22 miles course. The rowing marathon was made even harder by the fact that for many of Bluewatch it was their first time in a rowing boat… they are far more used to a fire engine!

Fire-fighter and captain of the boat Simon ‘Sico’ Connor told us “The first two hours were fun…! Taking part in the Great River Race was a wonderful experience and the whole team are proud of making it to the finish line in good spirits and with only a few blisters on our hand. The sweat and tears were worth every second as the benefit is so huge - knowing that we have helped React assist even more terminally ill children through our fundraising efforts is what makes it so worthwhile.”
